Huge missed opportunity

- three backpackers head to a Slovak city that promises to meet there hedonistic expectations, with no idea the hell that awaits them-

It’s really a shame that this is how the move ended up, because it could truly have been a great current horror film, there’s way to few of those around, It could have been very very good, because i like the general story concept of a murder vacation. That could have been done well but this…. This was not done well.

The characters are very very cliche just the American tourists who want to have sex constantly, that’s basically the first 40 minutes, then when it gets to what you have been waiting for, some actual scares it disappoints you with trying way to hard to make you disgusted and cringe. There weren’t any moments that got a good scare, just pointless over the top sex and pointless over the top violence. A major pet peeve of mine with horror movies is when they obviously try and shock you with violence I appreciate movies that shock you with psychological elements.

This movie could have done that, with the people who are actually doing the killings. But it’s just more missed opportunities.

I still think Eli Roth is one of the few good current horror directors around right now, it’s just this was definitely not his best work.
